Our crazy Hazel was the very first of our dogs to be retired. She gave us 2 litters with a total of 5 puppies.
Hazel was retired from our breeding program as we found with all the hormones that Hazel and Nyx began to fight. We are lucky enough that we found the perfect family for her for her retirement where she is spoilt rotten and there is no more fighting for her.
She now has a frenchie fur brother that she lives with called Bandit! Bandit is Chrome and Nyx's litter mate (brother). It was important for us to find a home with another fur-friend for her so she wouldn't be lonely. So we are so happy that she is kept in our extended fur-family. She is finally queen B and loving her new life in sunny Queensland.
She is living her best life with her humans and we could not be happier for her :)
Chrome was our next to be retired. We hadn't planned on rehoming him and had always planned on Chrome living out the rest of his days with us.
However, Chrome went on a holiday to visit his daughter, Harper to help try and calm her down and to allow her pawrents to see if she had a friend, if she would settle more. As it happened they fell in love with Chrome and his calming influence on his daughter Harper.
When Chrome came home we found he was sulking and on asking our Chronyx fam they too were missing him and Harper was lost. They asked if they could have him & it seemed a natural progression for his retirement.
We get updates all the time and he is loving his new life and we couldn't be more happy for him :)
Nyx, our matriarch, was our next to be retired.
Nyx had her third and final litter in January 2020 and has been retired to the lounge to nap the rest of her days out in a well earned retirement. Nyx was desexed on 1st May 2020.
Nyx is credited to 19 puppies, 1 (Saturn) sadly passing over the rainbow bridge but making 15 families lives happier. We retained 2 from 2 of her litters - Sass & Gypsy, We also co-own Karma & have retained breedings from Flint & Boston to secure the bloodlines. Her impact on our breeding program is invaluable to us.
Nyx unfortunately hurt her back after retirement, requiring surgery and extensive rehab so she could walk again. She is fully recovered and back to ruling the roost. Her strength and poise is nothing short of amazing.
Like Chrome, there is no intentions to rehome Nyx and more so now she has a back injury. She will stay with us for the remainder of her life.
Nanny Nyx sadly passed in October 2023 and broke my heart in the process. She loved me all her life and I'll miss her for the rest of mine. RIP my beautiful baby girl xx
Karma, daughter of Nyx and full sister to Sass. Karma gave us 1 absolutely stunning litter of 6 puppies.
We ended up unexpectantly retaining a pup from this breeding, Boujie, who excites us with her structure. With the quality she produced from this litter, we just had to keep Boujie.
Karma was part of a guardian home program so it was just the one litter we had from her before we retired her. she produced some of the most amazing pups that we have ever had in our program but the pups just drained her so much.
So she was desexed after her one and only litter and she will live the rest of her life in her guardian home, living the spoilt life with her son Rolls for company and her beautiful family.
Gypsy, daughter of Nyx and full sister to Sass & Karma.
Gypsy gave us 2 special litters of 3 puppies each, 6 in total. Her first being an imported post humorous breeding to UK Brutus & second to one of Australia's first aa blue studs, Stitch.
We have kept 2 pups from Gypsy, Rolo from Gypsy x Brutus and Frankie from Gypsy x Stitch. Both are expected to leave their mark on our future program as we progress & both are essential in our rojo program.
Gypsy was our very first guardian pup. She was our tester to see if a program like this could work for us. She showed us it could be very successful with the right people and paved the way for us to continue.
Being so little, her second pregnancy was rough in the last week so we made the call to retire her. Even though she has proven that she produces some of the best pups we have had, her health and well being comes first.
She is so very loved by us and her guardian family, we know she will love her early retirement officially beginning in Jan 2022 x
Sass, daughter of our matriarch, Nyx and full sister to Karma. Sass gave us 3 litters and her input in our program has been invaluable. She is a natural mother and has helped many of our new mums learn what to do and is known affectionately as "The baby thief" due to her inability to keep out of the puppy nursery when we have pups.
Sass' stamp can be seen still in our current program. She is the grandmother to our up and coming girl, Diva who shares the same loving and cheeky nature.
Sass has been desexed for sometime now and while actively assisting in the puppy pen when we have new babies she is enjoying just being a much loved and spoilt family member. She will remain here with us at Chronyx with her mum Nyx for the remainder of her life xx
Kuini is our lilac and tan girl, she is the daughter of world famous lilac and tan stud, Checkmate (UK) and blue and tan Storm Goddess Pearl (USA).
Kuini has also done big things for our current program and her stamp can be seen just as prominently as Nyx's. We have retained Puddin and Diva, Puddin has given us Harley and Envy, so we have plenty of Kuini's line left for our future. Each generation bettering the next, we are beyond grateful to our big girl Kuini.
Kuini's stamp can be seen still in our current program. She is the grandmother to our up and coming girl, Diva who shares the same loving and cheeky nature.
Kuini was desexed with Sass and like her sister from another mister (Sass) she will stay with us here at Chronyx for the remainder of her life being a much loved family member xx
Cartier was our Chocolate and tan girl who we purchased from Nitroblue Kennels in order to bring in another bloodline so our own didn't become so congested.
Cartier has only had 1 litter of 3 pups after 4 attempts of pregnancy. She is able to mate and conceive naturally however the hormones once she is pregnant causes inflammation to her uterine lining. This usually results in the litters being reabsorbed before due date. Given this knowledge we decided to desex her and allow her the opportunity to be a spoilt and retired pet.
Cartier has left her stamp on Chronyx as we have retained her son, Jackpot as a future stud in a co own setting. With the 3 pups she produced, all were quality.
Cartier was desexed on 21/06/2023 and has found her forever home with a gorgeous family in Canberra where she is loved beyond measure. We could not be any happier for her and her new family.
Boujie was our black and tan trindle irish pied girl born from Karma and Coopers Kennels Chino. I knew from the moment I saw her that she would be staying with us forever.
Boujie has given us 3 litters, 14 puppies with 3 keepers - 2 studs and 1 girl. Tater, Smoke and Rizzo. Her puppies were reknown for being small and compact - true to type puppies. Boujie was a natural mum, very doting and loving, even when they are far too old for her to be mothering.
Boujie was desexed on 21/06/2023 and she will join Nyx, Sass and Kuini on the retirement lounge here at Chronyx.
Ophelia was our blue and tan covered in cream girl out of Sass x Reggie. We had planned on breeding her but as the years ticked by, our plans changed. Ophelia had also had a couple of surgeries so we didn't feel that she would be a right candidate to breed.
Ophie has been successfully rehomed with her new frenchie brother Hugo who happens to be the brother to our stud boy, Zulu. We keep it in the family around here. She is happy, healthy and so loved and while we miss her, we know we did the right thing for her,
Ophelia was desexed on 21/06/2023 and is living just around the corner as a very loved and spoilt pet.
Rosie was our blue trindle girl from a pup back deal with Mopar frenchies. We had big plans for this little love but it was not to be.
Rosie had completed a breeding with our boy Zulu and was confirmed as pregnant. Unfortunately, during the pregnancy Rosie hurt her neck and the weight of the pregnancy was adding to the additional strain. We chose to abort the pregnancy in order to give Rosie the best chance of a full recovery.
Rosie has since recovered fully and is back to her normal self. We are waiting for a bit more time to pass and when we feel it is safe to do so, we will have her desexed. Rosie is already in her forever guardian home where she is incredibly loved. We could not be any happier for her x
Duchess was home bred out of Kuini x Midas. She boasted an amazing imported pedigree. Her breeding had been carefully planned for some time in hope that we would be lucky enough to have a keeper pup in the litter for our future program. She blessed us with 2 keepers, Zulu & Pterra.
Duchess was desexed in 2023 and is now living her best life with her pawrents in Canberra & is the apple of her daddy's eye. Duchess mum is also a vet so I know she will be forever looked after and will never have to worry about her care into the future. We are so happy for her.
She has an older pug sister to live out the perfect retired life xx
